Prayer for October 7, 2026
by Jonathan Jonas
Creator God, we are in awe of the beauty that you imagine, call into being, and sustain. Help us to see your glory in all that surrounds us. Loving God, our hearts overflow with thanksgiving for your great gifts of grace and love. Help us to be grateful for their every expression. Redeemer God, we offer humble gratitude because you bridge the distance of our wandering. Help us to reach out over our pride to be reconciled to others. Eternal God, we turn to you with a heartfelt desire to trust when we cannot see beyond the present horizon. We believe; help our unbelief.
Pour out your Holy Spirit in all its power upon the weakness, the worries, the willfulness, the wandering, and the wickedness of our human lives.
Cleanse us, renew us, and inspire us, that we might bear your love into the world with greater strength and with deeper desire.
May all who are vulnerable find their strength in you, and may they know the overwhelming love, grace, and mercy of your presence abiding with them. Amen.

And we pray together the words Christ taught us
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.
