Our speaker for the February 20th Caregivers Support Group is Dr. Sandra Newson, Speech and Language Pathologist for Amedysis Home Health Care in Roane County. She is a graduate of UT and Vanderbilt. Her specialty is dealing with adult communication deficits, including neuro-cognitive deficits and swallowing problems.
The Caregivers Support Group is for persons in our church and community who are caring for Alzheimer patients. The meetings begin at 9:45 for refreshments. Between 10-10:30, there is an educational component for caregivers, followed by an hour for The Caregivers Support Group. The persons receiving care meet separately with qualified professionals and engage in activities from 10-11:30 am in the room adjacent. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Pat Clendenen.
