Infinite, Almighty God,

We praise you for being Other. High above us, you stand outside of time and space. Omnipresent and omniscient, you are greater and more magnificent than we can or ever will comprehend. Our imaginings of you are mere reflections of our human experience, and we can only stand in awe and wonder at the holiness of our God.

And yet.

In Jesus you stooped to our experience of both time and space. Clothed in our flesh, Jesus knew what it was like to mourn, to love, to fear. He felt pain, hunger, and fatigue. He bore the expectations and judgment of others and wrestled with his own doubts and inner turmoil. For this, we give you thanks. We are grateful for Jesus and his nearness to us.

God, you created us to live moment by moment, to experience in our bodies and beings a multitude of joys and sorrows. We measure these moments, fleeting as they are, and bring them to you. Because your Spirit guides us into worship and prayer, we know that we can bring our finite smallness to our God who weeps when we weep. And in your presence, time seems to stand still long enough for us to commune with our God who is Three in One.

With confidence as children who know we are beloved, we lift our concerns for…

We pray for ….

  • A member at Patricia Neal; prayers for strength in body and spirit.
  • Those who struggle with grief and feeling there is no ‘time to grieve.’
  • A couple discerning about entering into parenthood …
  • A man dealing with addiction issues looking for spiritual comfort and healing

We continue to pray for ….

  • Afghanistan, Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine ….. Lord, in your mercy ….
  • Friends who are struggling with personal situations.
  • Unnamed requests known by you alone.
  • A friend who is feeling isolated…

We give thanks for ….

  • The birth of a healthy baby girl! Prayers for her brand new parents and grandparents!
  • The medical team for a new grandson who has done many surgeries to bring healing and wholeness to this precious little one! Prayers for continued healing.
  • An individual who has been waiting many months for SSI and SSDI to be approved. Prayers for strength as he waits for answers about housing.

As a community of faith, we pray together,

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom, thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom
And the power
And the glory forever.
Amen.
