Holy One, We lift praises to you today for the wonderful things that you have done. You are a great and glorious God! You are faithful and just. Your love is steadfast and your mercy stretches wide, encompassing all that you have created. The seas roar and the floods clap their hands in praise. In chorus with the hills and with our hearts lifted toward heaven, we pour out praise and gratitude. Your saints at Church Street UMC declare together this day that you are our God, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.
We cling fast to your mercy and confess that we allow the burdens we carry to change the disposition of our hearts. We are downcast and weary and allow the rocks to cry out in our place. Forgive us, God, when the effort to school our thoughts toward gratitude seems too great. Holy Spirit, turn our hearts toward the One who makes us new.
Almighty God, we ask you to move in a mighty way today. We are ready and willing to do your will in this world, so make us instruments of your justice and peace. Give us the courage to stand in the gap for our neighbors in need. Give us the wisdom to listen and the discipline to hold our tongues. We offer ourselves as living sacrifices in service to others that we may grow in grace as followers of Jesus Christ.
Because we know that you hear us when we pray, we lift these persons and circumstances to you:

We surrender all of these into your good hands, O God. And together, we pray the words your Son taught us…
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
Amen.
