Our goal is to fill, pack, and deliver 115 Thanksgiving baskets to families across Knox County. The cost of food has increased in the last year, making this ministry that much more important for our community. These baskets will be distributed through ministry partnerships with Wesley House, Beacon of Hope, and Family Promise of Knox County, as well as to persons connected with our mission ministries. Each basket contains items for a Thanksgiving dinner, such as green beans and canned ham, as well as pantry staples, like peanut butter and cereal. We need help funding, packing, and delivering these Thanksgiving Baskets.
Volunteer opportunities are available Wednesday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 20. On November 16, volunteers are needed to unload and sort items at the church. To help with pickup, please contact Jenny Cross at jcross@churchstreetumc.org.
