Caregiver Support Group

Speaker: Sallie Gentry, LCSW

Topic: Sallie Gentry is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in caregiver support and navigating dementia care. She recently opened up a private practice in West Knoxville and offers both in person & virtual appointments. She will be discussing self-care and practical tips for managing a loved one with dementia.

The first 30 minutes will be devoted to the topic; the remainder of the time will be spent as a supportgroup.

Vicky Shelton and Valerie Nicholson, both medical professionals, have developed a plan for the care receivers of those participating in the support group. This will take place in CLC 123, and is based on models from Adult Daycare, Memory Care, and Senior Adult exercise programs. This will provide the socialization and stimulation which is so important to the health and well-being of your loved one.
