We are grateful to you, O God, for the life you give us. You created all things and called them good. We look at the beauty of the mountains around us and the grandeur of the night sky, and are humbled and thankful that you included us in your creation.
We are grateful for your love, O God. It is your love that called us into being. When we remember your love, we feel connected and grounded. Your love embraces and undergirds us; we feel you purpose and guidance as we move throughout the day.
When we forget your love, O God, and turn away from your love, we end up relying on our own strength and reasoning. We notice things begin to fall apart and we ask, “why?” Yet you are still there with us, calling us into your presence. Give us the commitment, Gracious God, to give you praise and thanksgiving in all circumstances. Even when we feel the world is frightening or when we find ourselves in hard situations, may we begin with the assurance and confidence that you claim us as your own.
We lift to you the concerns of our hearts; we pray for those we love who are hurting. We pray for our military and all law enforcement. May our nation rely on our laws and balance of power to bring about good for all.
We are grateful, O God! We are grateful you hear our prayers and calm our spirits. With rekindled spirits, we can move forward to do the work you have called us to do.
We pray for ….
- A young teenager girl who had successful surgery removing brain tumor she has had since birth.
- A wife recovering from oral surgery.
- A member starting her own law firm.
- A couple beginning the discernment process about having children.
- A member recovering from surgery at home.
- A member regaining strength at home with PT.
- A member moving to assisted living in another state.
- A family grieving the death of their wife and mother.
- A friend who is struggling with health issues and depression.
We give thanks for ….
- The birth of a healthy baby girl! Prayers for her brand new parents, grandparents, and great-grandmother!
- Friends who offer encouraging words at just the right time.
- A young adult who has secured a job!
We offer the prayer Jesus taught us to pray ….
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, For ever and ever, Amen.”
