Elementary children take part in Spirit Adventure Spirit Adventure is the name our God's Gang fellowship
has given our new Sunday School that began August, 2002. What a great name! Our approach
to Sunday School is based on the Workshop Rotation Model, and we certainly believe
it is an adventure for every young spirit that participates.
In our rotation children study the same Bible story for five weeks. Each week each grade moves to
a different workshop where they will explore the story from a different perspective using many creative
ideas.
Our children explore, enjoy and learn from five different workshops:
Stay tuned as our adventure continues!. Children's Worship at Church Street We know that children stay in the church longer
if they worship with their parents. We also know that children are frequently bored in worship even
though we try to teach them what worship is all about. In our unique approach to children's worship,
kids are not learning about worship, but they are learning how to worship through sensory-motor
experiences based on godly play.
We offer worship for children during both worship services for children who are currently in our
three-year-old through second grade classes. Children remain in worship with their parents for half the
service and then are escorted to their own worship center by adult greeters. There children learn appropriate
worship behavior as well as ways to prepare themselves for their special time with God.
Sunday evenings from September through April are packed
with activities for children. God's Gang, our elementary fellowship group, meets for recreation and
Bible study at 4:15 p.m. Frequently, the Gang enjoys a movie night, savenger hunts and mission projects too!
CUBS is our fellowship group for children 4 and 5 years old. CUBS meets at 6 p.m. for creative
Bible study.
Children's Choirs meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. under the leadership of Jim Rogers and his staff. First and second
graders meet for singing, and older children meet for both singing and choir chimes.
Childcare for younger children is available for all Sunday evening activities.
